50 Favourite Debut Albums

I blame twitter – as I invariably do – for luring me in to compiling this list. Specific twitter folk in particular (you know who you are!).  How ludicrous, I thought, to compile such a list as I scribbled and listened and scribbled some more. I gasped aloud at realising I would leave out some sublime debuts, I shuddered at the prospect of having my tastes exposed for all to see, and of course, I agonised over whether such and  such an album was my 33rd favourite debut album or was it really my 35th favourite.

Anyway, here’s the list. Random comments on selected albums to follow..
